Reports out of South Africa indicate that reggae artistes Tony Rebel and Queen Ifrica arrived in South Africa to a tumultuous welcome by reggae fans and the Rastafari community in South Africa.

The arrivals hall at the O R Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg reportedly lit up with the rastafarian colours and there was said to be a buzz of curiosity and peering eyes of everyone waiting to see the arrival of the Jamaican reggae artistes.

The Jamaican High Commissioner to South Africa, Norma Taylor Roberts and staff, through whom the visit was facilitated, were also on hand to meet the artistes.

At the press conference which followed, the High Commissioner expressed her delight at the demonstration of goodwill and the cultural connection between the people of Jamaica and South Africa.
